AAAC Club Run Rocker Cover Race Day 2014-08-17


About 20 cars set off, the oldest being 1924 Oakland, with 3 generations of the Collins Family.

The run was flat so it was ideal for the older vehicles We headed North via Marion Rd, Henley Beach Rd, South Rd to the new Elevated Roadway about 20m above Grand Junction Rd,
very spectacular- cost about 1 billion Onto Port River Express Way, over Diver Dan Bridge,
through Semaphore, West Lakes and back to the Clubrooms.

It was such a nice day we had lunch on the lawn. Club supplied the Barbie, with bread, onions, snags & Burgers. The Barbie was manned by 2 of the best Cooks in the club.
Master Arthur Doecke and the Young Gun Jacob - Well Done!
Catering was done admirably by Wendy, Chris & Libby. - Well Done !
Ice Creams on sticks were well received.

After Lunch on to the Main Event - Car Racing! About 20 Cars were entered and scrutinized by Rodger Kearn, a man that cannot be bribed. John and Jenny Badcock sorted out starting numbers and opponents. Thank you to Jacob for being the starter of the racing.

The heats saw 2 cars raced each other, with the best out of three races until we were down to 2 cars for the Final.

Winner by a 2 out of three races, by the margin of 27mm was Jobey Green with Runner up Michael Reddy. Junior prize went to Caleb Williams.
