CHANGES TO PLANNING OUR CLUB RUNS
As we migrate through the constantly changing dynamics of Covid-19 it has become clear that the Club needs to update the way we plan our runs.
Both the monthly runs and the weekday runs will now need to have more details presented ahead of the run to the run’s coordinator.
A simple change in the weather forecast for the June 2021 Weekday Run demonstrates the need for this. On the day on-which the run was planned to be held the weather forecast was simply abysmal. There was nothing for it but to move the date at very short notice. Easy you say? Not really when there is no record of who was planning to attend. Emails only capture 85% of our members.
The end result was to email all members and then for the run co-ordinators to actually attend the Glandore facility on a very stormy day to advise any other attendees.
Time to start recording the proposed run attendees!
The committee has discussed this and moving forward the names for run attendees and their mobile phone contact details will be recorded and presented to the run co-ordinator. A folder for the runs will be circulated at the meeting for these details to be collected. Members wishing to do the run but not able to attend the meeting should register their interest with the run co-ordinator as detailed in the magazine.
This is expected to help manage any late notice change that may be forced upon the run co-ordinator who can then can most advise the members planning to attend the run.
