SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2021 RUN TO GILBERT'S MOTOR MUSEUM There has been a change of destination for the club run on October 31 (previously the Callington Show Run). It was necessary due too the many requirements to attend the Callington show, These included needing to be parked up at Callington by 9.30am, then having to stay parked on display until 3:30pm, having to supply insurance requirements and provide Covid marshalls for the show. So the committee decided it was too hard. Now We are booked for a tour at GILBERT'S MOTOR MUSEUM in Strathalbyn. Meet at Glandore Club rooms at 9.30 am for a 10.00am start we aim to arrive at Strath at about 11am for our 11:30am booked Museum Tour. Cost $8 per person. Sunday 21st November TOUR OF CLIPPER SHIP ADELAIDE Due to unforseen circumstances the run has changed to a Tour OF THE CLIPPER SHIP ADELAIDE Unfortunately the Port River Dolphin Cruise suddenly closed in early October after operating for 30 years. They are planning for a newer smaller boat but that won't be ready for some time yet. So in keeping with the nautical theme the club's run is now going to the Clipper Ship Adelaide. It has lots of history bringing early colonists to Adelaide and transporting produce back to England. The clipper is being restored at Dock2 Port Adelaide, Entry via Honey St. https://www.cityofadelaide.org.au/ Meet at the Glandore Club Rooms at 9.30 AM for a 10.00 AM START We will cruise along the coast & beaches arriving at the Cl…

CHANGES TO RUN DETAILS CHANGES TO RUN DETAILS
CHANGES TO PLANNING OUR CLUB RUNS As we migrate through the constantly changing dynamics of Covid-19 it has become clear that the Club needs to update the way we plan our runs. Both the monthly runs and the weekday runs will now need to have more details presented ahead of the run to the run’s coordinator. A simple change in the weather forecast for the June 2021 Weekday Run demonstrates the need for this. On the day on-which the run was planned to be held the weather forecast was simply abysmal. There was nothing for it but to move the date at very short notice. Easy you say? Not really when there is no record of who was planning to attend. Emails only capture 85% of our members. The end result was to email all members and then for the run co-ordinators to actually att…
ROCKER COVER RACE RULES ROCKER COVER RACE RULES
HOW TO BUILD ROCKER COVER WHEELS I was introduced to rocker cover racing by Reg Courteney who borrowed 2 from a friend from the Sporting Car Club. They had plastic wheels with ball clearing centres. At our meeting they were fast but didn't suit our track and bottomed out in the dip, axles were too far back. My grandson and I decided to build our own racers, one with 120mm wheels and the other with 150mm max size. The smaller wheels were cut from an old computer door using a large hole saw mounted in a press drill, the inner bearing hole was cut last. Skateboard bearings were used, at first they were pressed in but the wheels dished so we changed them, leaving them loose and gluing them in with Araldite - not the 5 minute version. The large wheels were cut out of Lexon with a…
